Dear Parents and Carers
Welcome to the Blog!
This morning I visited our Stage 2 and 3 rooms to remind the children that today at the Yamba Touch Football Gala Day, they were wearing a St James uniform BUT that wasn't the important bit. Today the students represented themselves and as such asked all children to take the opportunity to speak encouragingly, play their very best, respect the referees decision and above all have fun.
This afternoon every single staff member (of which there were 7) has approached me to say 'that was the best day ever! The children were excellent, their effort was amazing, and are we going to go again next year?'
Visiting the children in class this afternoon every student is slightly red in the face but all report they have had the best time and would love to do it again.
What we have is alot of proud kids and teachers. What a nice way to finish the week.
Have a great weekend.
Ann
School Rule - Reminder
A reminder to all parents & students- one of our school rules states that students are not to bring toys into school (this includes cards that children collect), as this can cause loss or damage to those items. Parents, please remind your children of this rule.

ES1 News
Early Stage 1 are saving the bees! After being inspired by the book - Just One Bee by Anthony Bertini, ES1 wanted to plant flowers to help the bee population. We have planted lavender and marigolds and we are enjoying caring for our garden. We have created some amazing bee art and have enjoyed labelling the parts of a bee. Ask us about bees!
Stage 1 News
This week in maths we have been exploring mass. Stage 1 has been testing and comparing weights using hefting and pan scales. Investigating heavier than, lighter than, balanced, and estimating to make the same weight.
We have been also practising our facts of ten for efficient addition and subtraction. Playing bridging bingo and creating rainbow number facts.
Stage 2 News
This week in Stage 2 we have current news headlines to influence our learning. We have been focusing on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and decided to tailor our informative writing in an attempt to learn about her life.
These are some of the interesting things we learned about her life:
Levi - That Queen Elizabeth died a couple of days ago.
Rashad - She became a Queen when she was 27.
Ava - She loved horses and her favourite breed of dogs was Corgis.
Health - Her father’s name was George.
Myla - She was the longest reigning Monarch.
Slater - I didn’t know that her husband died at 99.
Anzac - She was born in 1926.
Poppy - She was first in line to the throne when she was only 10.
Jake - She was the first Monarch to visit Australia.
Fionn - She served the Commonwealth for 70 years.
Harlan - She had 4 children.
Cadence - Her husband was called Philip and he died last year.
Sev - Her favourite soccer team was Arsonal.
