Dear Parents and Carers

While we have been challenged by the current weather event, I know that we are all very grateful for the safety of our loved ones and community.

Many people have spent significant time this week  supporting those in need and I know this work will continue into the future. The most beautiful area in which we live is in need of our support and  patience as it recovers.

Included in this newsletter are the contact details for flood assistance and I know that everyone who reads this either needs this or knows someone who needs this.

As I said we wait for CVC to allow use of Carr's Drive to access the site and after the appropriate checks have been made (I really mean that the toilets are working) we will open as soon as possible.

At this stage with Yamba Road closed we will have some staff working online and staff onsite. The continuity of learning will be maintained at this time and we will keep connected with our children  off site.

We look towards the weeks ahead,

Ann

RE News

This week we celebrate Ash Wednesday and the first day of the season of Lent. We know that Lent is a special time to prepare ourselves for Easter. By thinking about our lives and making changes with God’s help, we can become better people.

On Ash Wednesday Christians receive a cross of ashes on their foreheads.  God’s people have used this powerful sign for hundreds of years. The cross of ashes tells friends and neighbours that we know we are not perfect. We sometimes break the law of God.  We hurt other people.  We act selfishly. On Ash Wednesday we tell God and each other that we are sorry and we want to be more like Jesus.
