What Happens If My Child Has A Cold?
If your child has any symptoms which are on the COVID list the process remains the same.
1. Book a COVID test at the Doctor or Clinic and the student remains at home until they receive a clearance (which is sent to the school email)
2. Keep the student at home until all symptoms are gone.
3. Obtain and supply a Medical Certificate identifying that the child can return to school.
If a student or staff member presents with symptoms, they will be sent home and the above process is in place. If you are unable or unwilling to follow the above procedure the student or staff memeber will need to remain at home for 10 days.
This applied to me last week and lead to me having two trips to the Respiratory Clinic.
Dear Parents and Carers
The children in Years 3 and 5 are to be congratulated on their perserverence and engaged completion of the NAPLAN assessments. This is a big week of online assessment for the children.
Next week I am attending a Diocese of Lismore Principal Conference, in Coffs Harbour. The agenda is to work with the new Education Board and become more familiar with the new governance structure of the diocese. I know I have been speaking with you about this change for some time. It has finally commenced. We are looking at the implications for our community and being asked for input into the processes (I think). What does that mean for us as a school? When I know you will know!
I have been touring for the past few weeks with new enrolments. If you are intending to enrol for 2022, the online portal is open. Please be aware that the class is being finalised as we speak.
I hope all are well and looking forward to seeing you onsite.
Ann

Christian Meditation
Here in the Diocese of Lismore our parish schools share a devotion to the practice of Christian Meditation. Combining this ancient prayer form with a desire to reach out and help others, many students find daily meditation at school a helpful prayer form. Students develop discipline and control over themselves during this practice, where they are able to reflect on their day and can centre themselves, ready for learning. During meditation, students learn to pray in a way that can bring peace and inner calm through connection with God.
Just a reminder that the dates for Sacraments are:

We began some great stories.
Early Stage 1 News
In Mathematics, Kindergarten are learning ways to describe position. We are giving and following simple directions. We are thinking about - What do we say and do to get to a position? What language do we use to describe positions? The Positional words we are using are: right, left, between, next to, behind and inside. We have been using our Beebot Robots and coding directions, doing the ‘Hokey Pokey’, reading storybooks with positional words and using our body to follow directions. Parents please quiz us on Positional Language at home!

Stage 1 have been exploring mixing materials in science. During investigations they have had the opportunity to practice mixing and combining their own materials. They have selected herbs from the garden, lemons and limes from the citrus trees, added water and coloured salt. Students have noted the changes that occur such as change in colour, small and physical state and have loved every moment!

Stage 2 News
This week Stage 2 were lucky enough to take possession of 20 new laptops for our classroom. This means that we now have enough for one per student which makes it much easier to incorporate the use of technology into our learning. The students are very excited and looking forward to further developing their technology skills as the year progresses.
