Dear Parents and Carers,
After a great evening of dancing we ended the week very quietly at Saint James. (Some DISCO photos below- we could have filled a barge!)
The weather has been against us using our fields to their potential, but it looks like we are coming through with a change in the skies and a drying wind. I would like to acknowledge the children and staff who all made changes to rosters and plans for play to make sure we could be use the available spaces without needing 50000 icepacks. Thank you to all who have made the changes work.
Over the next few weeks we will be looking to update the technology in our learning spaces. This will begin in conjunction and with the support and encouragement of the Community Conversations group who along with the staff were very keen to upgrade access for the children.
Can I ask that if you have any concerns regarding processes which are used at Saint James, please ring and make an appointment to come and seek information and support.
I was hoping to let you all know of some developments in the school coming in the near future, but I find myself here today twiddling my thumbs as I wait for notifications!
Just a reminder that the school is closed on Thursday 30th May.

National Simultaneous Storytime
This week, the students at St James participated in National Simultaneous Storytime. Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country.
It is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.
This year’s book was Bowerbird Blues, written by Aura Parker. Here are a few happy snaps of the day!

While the sun was shining the track was still challenging with plenty of mud to say the least. Jackson, Declan and Remi competed in the 2km race and Sunny, Iyla, Luca, Jarrah, Jake, Fionn and Sailor competed in the 3km race. They all represented our school and the Clarence Zone with pride and each achieved great results.
Congratulations to Jake and Iyla who have qualified to attend the Polding Cross Country Championships at the Sydney Equestrian Center in June. Iyla placed 2nd and Jake placed 6th, well done and we wish you the best of luck at Polding next month!
