Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for your engagement with Saint James this term.
I have been privileged to speak with many families enrolling for future class placements and when I ask why they are here, it is almost always because of what the parent body is saying in the community.
It was a great pleasure to have so many families come to school this week for the all week open classrooms, morning tea and the liturgy. We also had families join the excursion for Stage 1 around the surfing beaches and the museum. Today we have commemorated the service of those whom we remember around Anzac Day and an assembly. It was lovely to see so many parents join us for these as well.
This week, during Catholic Schools Week, I have been playing a game. Each day I had a theme in my thoughts as to why we do what we do, and I have tried to use the words in conversation with you either at an event or in passing.
My words were-
Monday- community (excursion)
Tuesday- active and involved (and then they moved the Cross Country to next term! Can I give this one to Lola who swam today in Sydney at the PSSA carnival? Well done Lola! and thanks to your efforts my pattern is maintained)
Wednesday- families and faith (liturgy, morning tea and open classrooms)
Thursday- respect, service and learning (assembly and The Call)
I think these words define what schools are about. Thanks for playing along.
Once more, thank you for your engagement this week and we look forward to the beginning of the next term with lots of exciting things happening.
Just remember- if the words assembly, liturgy, carnival, mass, celebration, welcome or join! are used you are invited to be here. You are always invited to be here.
Our modes of communication are this NEWSLETTER (particularly the calendar), COMPASS (all events must have what to wear included) and then our Instagram. You can go old school and ring 66463266 if you need information or an answer too. Kelly, Baxter and Sue know it all (or know who knows it all).
All are welcome, all belong.
