Words and their meanings
Carnival- an event we want all families and grandparents to come to.
Liturgy- a prayer within the school (usually the hall) where all families are invited and welcome and we want all families and grandparents to come to.
Assembly- a celebration of learning in the hall which every family is invited to attend and we want all families and grandparents to come to.
Mass- a celebration of our faith at the Church which all are invited to attend and we want all families and grandparents to come to.
All are welcome, all belong!
Dear Parents and Carers
I am a bit teary this afternoon. I love my job and I love my community and my peers. I was teary last week at the Family Fun Night, I was teary at the involvement at the Cross Country ( Congratulations to Pippi for the win!) and I was teary today as I joined the Holy Week Liturgy.
Did you make it to the Cross Country yesterday? What a great day of effort, support, enthusiasm and just a bit of rain and mud! Thank you to all who prepared the course, stood on the course to encourage all the runners and the most positive, cheering spectators who lined the course! These days, as we know, do not happen by without a lot of effort from all.
At the end of Holy Week I was privileged to join the school community for commemoration of the road to Easter. Please check the Instagram story today. Another celebration where the staff, students and community joined to pray, pause and remember the central tenant of the Catholic Church and the faith which lead to the development of Saint James. It is now a highlight of my faith journey in this school. It was that beautiful.
We are only off site for 4 days and I know that some families are planning great down time together. Enjoy! I wish you a Happy Easter. (I feel I should be finishing a term and my rhythms are all out! See you Tuesday)
Cheers
Ann
