Dear Parents and Carers

Well that was a week!

It started so positively with Kydan and Clarence swimming successfully in Sydney. I would like to give their parents an award for getting them there and back.

Clarence travels back to Sydney very soon to compete at another carnival where Polding and MacKillop come together. For your trival information the zones are named after Saint Mary MacKillop and Archbishop Bede Polding (the first bishop in Australia in the Catholic tradition). I am not sure it will come up in a trivia quiz but now you know!

Well done gentlemen on your sportspersonship and your efforts.

While we know the disruption of a ROAD CLOSED sign for us as a school community, I am thinking and praying for members of our community who were significantly impacted. I am sure there are many. I have attached the SES Assistance publication for your reference, hoping it may help some. I did not know until yesterday that once the natural disaster is  declared  SES become the lead agency for floods and I recommend this document to you.

If we can help in any way please contact me.

The implication of being able to immediately return to online learning is not lost on us as a school. The teachers and extended community teachers (mums, dads, nans, pops and friends) being able to keep childen somewhat connected to their learning and one another is about the only positive I can see from last year's experiences.  Thank you to all who helped in this endeavour over this week.

I am extremely proud of the staff at St James who responded so positively on Monday when I asked them  "Can we go back to zoom, classroom, seesaw, youtube uploads  and screencastify?"

We all had the same thought bubble "How do I do this again?"

The sentiment of all the staff is -children with us at school- please.

Thank you again for your support.

The mozzie load will be great at school (everywhere on the north coast really) over the next week. Please do not send in aerosol applications with your children. I have had a shop up of roll on repellent and if any medical conditions restrict your child from using these please email me at the yamp@lism.catholic.edu.au and let me know how we can work around it.

See you Monday through Thursday at school next week.

Ann

Holy Week in our Parish

In the Catholic tradition Easter is the biggest season in the liturgical year, even more significant than Christmas.

At this time the Catholic faithful remember the story of Jesus' death and resurrection.  The link below will show the times of liturgies within the parish over the Easter Season. If you know anyone who wants to attend, the instructions for registering are at the top of the document.
