Dear Parents and Carers

And here we go with a bang … back to school for 2024

I’m writing this as I sit in the only shade I can find at the pool for our school swimming carnival today. We’ve got all our staff here working really hard and all our parents helping out and supporting and cheering while all our kids swimming. lots of kids doing lots of strokes. Where else would you be on a hot day? Join us today. Just parents new families and children are casual staff including Mrs O’Keeffe. Her last full-time class at school are actually in year five, and it’s lovely to have her back with us.
This carnival is a precursor to our carnival in Maclean at the end of February, where we throw off our team, colours of blue, green and yellow, and join together to get behind our school team.

Over the years, we’ve gone from a very small team to a very big and very competitive team as a school and swimming and we know that’s because of our families.

Back at school today. Miss Haines is working on her Best Start Assessment with this year’s Early Stage One class. Those of us should have done the assessments over the years (of which there’s about six) Remember the story of Spike and Curly. You read the story with every child that you assess which means 25 times in the next five days Meghan will read that story to her children. It gets in your brain! As soon as she told her she was doing it, it was in our brains once more and we thank her for that.

Community Conversation #6
