Dear Parents and Carers

At the end of a big week of celebrating, we have a sent off a lovely class of students who I know are destined for great things! We also farewelled Ms Kerrie OHalloran from her role as inclusion support in ES1 and S1.  Even to the very last Kerrie was videoing the Yr 6 tunnel for the Gram! Professional and on the job to the end! Thanks Kerrie for all your work.

We have some other news in staffing. Tracey Aumuller will remain in Stage 3 with Tash Hancock for most of 2024.  This is Mrs OKeeffe's maternity leave position.  It is lovely to settle rooms as we move forward.  This week I had the pleasure of following through the Goal Setting process with the staff. It was and always is so nice to share the successes and the future thinking with teachers as they move to the end of a year. All have already started thinking about how they can enliven their teaching in 2024. If it is ok, we might have  a rest for the holidays and then get back to it!!

Have a blesses and wonderful break and know that we can not wait to see you all in 2024.

Cheers

Ann

Change in Role but still with us

Mrs Lisa Dougherty has completed her time in the leadership of St James, but remains within the school! Lisa has worked as Assistant Principal Teaching and Learning and as the Leader of Pedagogy within St James for the past five years. Her rigour, persistence and belief that every child can, and will grow at St James has been a hallmark of her leadership.

We’re not losing her. She is moving into a new role where the benefit of her expertise will support children with inclusion, support needs and high potential learners.

She takes these gifts with her.

Thank you Lisa for all your support.

RE News

As we come to the end of another huge year, we are graced with time to rest, recover and reconnect with God’s creation, looking for hope-filled signs of God’s love, care and attention. Let’s delight in finding signs of God’s love in all things, especially in surprising and unexpected places. May all of our families have a blessed, holy and happy Christmas and a restful break over the Christmas season.

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope.

Psalm 130:5

Joy to the World (Phil Wickham) - A classic carol that celebrates the joy and sovereignty of God. Let us rejoice in God’s faithfulness and how Jesus’ birth delivers salvation to the earth.

Renee Howland

Assistant Principal, Mission
